Recently, the 2025 National Finals of the China College Students Engineering Practice and Innovation Competition were held in Dalian, Liaoning Province. Two teams from NEU advanced to the finals. The team comprising Zhang Yibo, Chen Jiajun, Chen Zhigao and Zou Haonan, guided by Professor Wen Shiguang from the Faculty of Robot Science and Engineering, secured the National Special Prize in the Intelligent Household Waste Sorting Event. Meanwhile, the team consisting of Jing Qi, Wang Xufeng, Geng Qizhao, and Liu Yutong earned the National First Prize in the Intelligent Logistics Handling Event. This marks NEU's first National Special Prize and First Prize in this prestigious competition, achieving a historic breakthrough.
This year's competition, themed with "Fostering New Development Drivers Through Cross-Disciplinary Engineering Innovation, Fostering Virtue Through Education and Embracing Responsibility in National Development." features three tracks and seven events. It attracted 1,135 teams from 417 universities nationwide, with nearly 5,000 participants competing on the same stage.
