Recently, the finals of the 9th China (International) Sensor Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition concluded at the Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. Students from the NEU Qinhuangdao Campus secured one National First Prize and one National Third Prize, achieving a historic breakthrough in terms of awards.

This competition was hosted by the China Instrument and Control Society and co-organized by its Electronic Measurement and Instrumentation Branch, its Education Working Committee, and the Henan Instrument and Control Society. As one of the premier competitions in the global sensor field, this event attracted 819 entries from over 300 participating institutions this year, including universities, research institutes, and enterprises nationwide. More than 4,600 participants—comprising university students, faculty members, researchers, and engineering technicians—took part in the competition. Following preliminary evaluations across ten regional competitions nationwide, a total of 94 outstanding entries were selected as finalists for the national finals. The competition ultimately presented 2 Grand Prizes, 7 First Prizes, 25 Second Prizes, and 58 Third Prizes.

After intense competition, the project "Polarization-Based Anti-Infrared Camouflage Sensing System" completed by Xiao Xunman, Zhang Shanru, Chen Siyu, Ji Haofu, and Liu Yuhang won the First Prize. Additionally, the project "Multi-Structure Integrated Ocean Temperature-Salinity-Depth Fiber Optic Sensor and its High-Precision Demodulation," completed by Liu Ruijie, Deng Wei, Su Yibo, Ma Yuxi, and Zhao Hongyun under the guidance of Professor Zhao Yong, was awarded the Third Prize.
